See monkey’s at Khao Ngu Stone Park Tambon Ko Phlapphla

Khao Ngu Stone Park is located at the foot of a rocky hill, around 8 km from Ratchaburi city, in Tambon Ko Phlapphla. I stumbled upon this place heading back to Ban Pong after visiting the awe inspiring Khao Bin Cave. It's basis premise is a cave relating to Buddhism. Inside the cave is a Buddha image sculptured onto cave wall. The image sitting in the European style, in the posture of preaching a sermon is in the style of art of the Dvaravati period (6th–8th centuries). Commonly known as Phra Phutthachai Tham Ruesi Khao Ngu, the image has a flat face, curved and connected thick eyebrows, protruding eyes, a flat nose, thick lips, large hair-curls, and a lotus bud halo. In between the ankles were Pallava scripts in Sanskrit reading ‘Punyakarmjara Srisamadhigupta’ which means Srisamadhigupta is the one who purifies his mind by his merit-making. This is an important trace of the Dvaravati art. Khao Ngu Stone Park is located at the foot of a rocky hill, around 8 km from Ratchaburi city, in Tambon Ko Phlapphla. Locals are only to happy to sell you food to feed the monkey's if you really want to tempt fate. Khao Ngu Stone Park is really somewhere you might go if you were on a self drive and passing by. For me personally I wouldn't aim to go there specifically but if you were in the area, say at Khao Bin Cave stopping by for a look would not be a disappointment. If you make your way further along the road you will see a statue of a cobra, and next to the statue are 446 steps that you can climb up to the viewpoint to see a awesome view of the city below.
