Jomtien Beach is a 6 km straight stretch of beach which is a much quieter place compared to its sexy tourist neighbor to the north.
Relaxing on Jomtein beach for the day can be much quieter and far less full on than Pattaya.
It still has many attractions, with parasailing, jet ski’s and banana tube rides.
Being able to splash about in the clean and uncluttered sea, and allowing kids to swim with safety is a great draw card for Jomtein.
Spending a coupe of Baht can see you relaxing on the beach in the shade on a lounge chair, with local food able to be purchased and brought directly to you.
In reality, you could spend the whole day lazing in your chair, and happily have a full belly by the many street food vendors.
If you want to get into some of the adventure, hiring a jet ski of one of the other water sports will set you back far less than at Pattaya.
We went for a para-sail late in the afternoon for only 600THB which was a great deal compared with some of the high prices being quoted at many other tourist beaches or even on the main drag in Pattaya.
Moving to the southern end of the beach for some sunset photos is highly recommended, especially when the long boats are in the water and you witness the sun setting over the horizon.
